International Conference on Architecture Research and Design (AR+DC) is an annual event organized by the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember. This international event was first initiated in 2009 and has invited academics, researchers, and professionals from a wide range of expertise and field. For years, AR+DC topics focused on architecture and its related subjects, such as architecture design, architectural theory, history, and criticism, environmental architecture, housing and settlement, and urban design.

Workshop: Best Practice on Housing and Settlement Management in Surabaya

This workshop aims as a learning medium for policy makers and researchers on housing and settlement management. Surabaya city government is expected to be a co-host this workshop from whom the participant can also gain knowledge and insight. This program will include seminar, field trip, and group discussion.

Special Track

The CIB Working Commission W110 will organize an international conference and meeting in conjunction with AR+DC conference on 4 November 2019. This particular conference aims to gather research results and studies of “Informal Settlements and Affordable Housing” from around the world. Researchers, students, practitioners, government officials, NGOs, and others welcome to submit papers. These papers are very useful for the improvement of informal settlements and affordable housing. Topics of CIB W110 special track are:

 

  • Informal Settlements’ Historical Heritage

  • Affordable Housing in Urban Areas  

  • Informal Settlements Sustainability

  • Informal Settlements and Disaster Prevention
